The sun arises with her kiss
to gently awaken you
Blush with color in response
as her light enfolds you
Glow red, frosted peaks
alert the valley of the dawn
flowing swiftly down your mountains' steep
to stretch 'cross prairies long
Her light reveals familiar hints
anticipated spring!
See! The robin returned to nest
the chickadee to sing
Unleafed arms yearned up toward light
are graced with amber hue
Their nakedness shines full of promise
pregnant with life soon due
Doves perched, puffed from nighttime chill
in winter's barren limbs
expand your wings, prepare for flight
warmed by sun's first glimpse
Creation break forth! Sing praises!
rejoice in this new day!
The veil of night is vanished
you're free to live today!
The prompt dawn,the faithful spring
what say they in their hums?
Attend your ear to lyrics clear
Redemption surely comes!
Rejoice created ones!
This poem was born the morning of March 6, '06 on my 4th day of my fasting. He has waken me up each day just before the peaks turn pink at 6:22. It allows me at least an hour of solitude before the girls get up between 7:30 and 8:00. I marvel at His grace that on the morning I ignored the call and fell back asleep until 7:30, He was pleased to let the girls sleep until 9:00! How great His love!!!
I have so enjoyed watching creation come alive and hearing His voice in the beauty of the dawn. Such precious time.I have not always been a morning person. :)
